The Glastonbury Festival is the largest greenfield music and performing arts festival in the world which takes place in South West England. The festival is best known for its contemporary music, but also features dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, and many other arts. Glastonbury was heavily influenced by hippie ethics and the free festival movement in the 1970s.
The Glastonbury Festival 2009 took place on June 26-28 (with some musical entertainment beginning on June 25) at the Worthy Farm site.
